Thompsonville Walking Tour – with Jim Malley

The village of Thompsonville was named after Orrin Thompson, owner of the Thompsonville Carpet Company in 1828. Business and industry grew rapidly around its main industry.  This walking tour begins at the water fountain in front of Town Hall and wraps around Freshwater Pond then heads down Asnuntuck Street, to the South River Street Boat Launch up Main Street, past the Bigelow Commons, then the Polish Home.  The tour continues down Church Street and back to the Town Hall parking lot.  Tour starts at the Enfield Town Green-820 Enfield Street.  The walking tour is free, please register in advance by calling the Enfield Public Library at 860-763-7511 or email Lsprague@enfield.org.  (Rain Date: Saturday, September 4.)
