Intro to Neurographic Art with Barbara Lawrence

LEARN a fun and easy way to calm your body and quiet your mind. No drawing experience required!

Neurographic Art is based on principles of neuroscience, psychology, and art. Enter a relaxed flow state, connecting your subconscious mind with your fingers as you glide the pen across the paper, bringing your nervous system into balance.

Barbara Lawrence, artist, and creative entrepreneur, will present a brief overview of the origins of Neurographic Art and its applications, share her experience with using this simple method to help manage her own dysregulation and chronic pain, then demonstrate two basic techniques for participants to explore. This 90-minute session will conclude with a Q&A discussion along with guidance and resources for those who wish to learn more.

Barbara emphasizes, “Neurographic Art is an essential part of my tool kit. I always carry with me a small pouch with blank cards and a pen. It’s great for when I’m sitting in a doctor’s office awaiting test results or occupying myself until my meal arrives when dining out alone.”

Owner of Soul Sifter Creations, Barbara received her bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2001. She has a history of immense trauma with diagnoses of C-PTSD, ADHD, and dysautonomia and has studied numerous modalities and techniques in her quest to manage symptoms.

“Learning about nervous system dysregulation literally transformed the way I process my emotions and how I relate to my body sensations, particularly with managing overwhelm and chronic pain. Neurographic Art not only helps me manage my emotions and physical symptoms but allows me to quiet and focus my highly active and often chaotic neurodivergent brain.”
